Hi, my name is Amy, and I really like making stuff. Maybe everything, one day.
I've been spending a lot of time on turning and chip carving lately but the long, long run of all of this is actually much broader than carving or even woodworking.
In college I got frustrated at the lack of furniture design programs in my part of the country, so I decided that one day I was going to open my own school. But more than just woodworking, I also want it to offer courses in ceramics, glass, metals and jewelry, textiles, timber framing, and other handicrafts, as well as some homesteading skills like gardening and husbandry. It's a massive goal, so I'm starting now by picking up the skills I'll need to teach the first woodworking classes myself, and to organize programs in the other areas.
I assume most people think my handle is either simplistic or conceited. Both are true, but more importantly it's a challenge. One day, I'm going to help make everything.
